What are you wasting most?

What is the 1 thing that successful people has the same amount as unsuccessful people?
Rich people have the same amount as poor people?

Sick people tend to cherish it more.

It can’t be bought. I can’t be traded.

Once it is spent you cannot get it back.

You can’t make more. You can’t have less.

The answer: TIME!

Time
Time

Every one of us has 24 hours a day, 1440 minutes, 86400 seconds. Time is the GREAT EQUALITY in LIFE. Humans, cats, dogs alike.

I have 24 hours in my day. So do you. So does our neighbors, friends, rich people, poor people, good people, bad people.

What makes us unique?
What makes us unique is how we spend our day. How successful people spend their day is different than how most of us spend ours. If you want to be successful, like I do, then I would suggest that you study how successful people spend their time.

Everyone has a different definition of success. Those that I see as successful may not be the same as yours. I admire Richard Branson, Jack Canfield, Oprah, Dr Oz, Dr Wentz, Darren Hardy, Tony Robbins. Your list may be vastly different. They may be successful actors and actresses, sports stars, fashion designers, or anyone that has an outstanding achievement in what they do.

Tony Robbins once said: ‘Success leaves clues’. All you have to do is find the clues that your success idol left for you.

What is different about most successful people?

One common trait amongst most successful people is that they don’t waste time doing things that do not push them forward, in the direction that they are heading.

What are some of the common time-wasters in our lives?

Here’s some questions to ask yourself:

How much time do you spend …

dressing yourself? Putting on makeup? Styling your hair?
waiting in line in Starbucks? Airports? Drive-thrus?
looking for stuff, such as your keys? Wallet? Cell phone?
being sick?
watching TV? Playing video games? Watching the news?
on social media?
stuck in traffic while listening to pointless radio talks and news?
With ‘negative’ friends that makes you feel bad?

What’s NOT a Time Waster?
One thing that is not a time waster: SLEEP. Unless you sleep more than 9 hours a day consistently.

Most of us need 7 to 9 hours of sleep each day.

We all have our basic needs. Eat, sleep, play.

Any time we spent bettering ourselves is good.

Time spent with ‘POSITIVE’ friends are good.

Time spent with people you loves and who loves you back is excellent.

What’s the lesson here?
We are all given the same amount of time. How we utilize it determine who we are and where we are. A little TV now and then is TLC, too much is a huge waste of time.

I was often amazed by how much time some girls spend on styling their hair. I once waited a friend for 45 miinutes while she was blow drying, styling, fixing and re-fixing each strand of hair until it is perfect.

How much is your time worth?

If you have a regular, 40-hour per week job, then divide your annual pay by 2000 hours and you get approximately how much you’re worth on an hourly basis. If your annual salary is $100K, then you make $50 per hour.

If you have passive income, meaning that you make money regardless of whether you’re actively working or if you’re sleeping, then you should divide your annual income by 8760. That’s 365 days at 24 hours a day.

Therefore, if you make $100K annually, then watching CSI Miami and CSI Las Vegas and CSI Los Angeles would cost you $150. That’s $50 per hour.

Use a Time Tracker
One simple technique that we often ask our new clients to do is to carry a time-tracker with them for 3 days.

For 3 days, jot down everything that you do, in 15 minute intervals. If you spend 15 minutes in the bathroom, jot that down. Chatting with co-workers for ½ hour at the watercooler? Jot that down.

It will quickly become very clear to you how much time you are spending doing time-wasting activities.
